As someone who loves being outdoors in the Australian bush, I have had a growing interest in birds since my early twenties. It began with walking through the bush with binoculars, identifying what I observed, and eventually gaining my bird banding licence. As a keen photographer, my interest naturally developed into photographing as many bird species as possible. My love of the Australian bush has taken me to many different locations across the continent, particularly in the north.

Bird photography draws you into walking slowly, watching for movement and waiting patiently for the right moment. In doing so, it encourages a deeper appreciation of the detail in the landscape and the complexity and beauty of creation. My hope is that these photographs convey something of the same wonder, curiosity and stillness that I have experienced while taking them.
